INDIE GAMES
/ Art, Development, and Production Support for Indie Teams
VSQUAD supports indie teams with both game art production and technical development. We can help with separate assets, characters, environments, animation, UI, Unity or Unreal tasks, or take a larger production scope when the team needs reliable external support.

Mandragora - Whispers of the Witch Tree
The 3D character development for Mandragora focused on capturing the gritty, hand-painted aesthetic of the witch-tree world. We emphasized sharp facial features and worn fabric textures to define the character’s battle-hardened appearance while maintaining high-fidelity stylized details.

Unsung Story
For Unsung Story, we developed this character with a focus on a chunky, readable silhouette essential for tactical RPG gameplay. The texturing process involved layering hand-painted details to define the sharp contrast between the heavy fur elements and the weathered metallic gear.

OUR OPERATION MODELS

- Individual artists or small production units can join your existing pipeline and work under your team’s direction.

Xanthos, Ghost of the Eternal Flame
The 3D model for Xanthos centers on a sleek silhouette defined by the leather-textured hood and sharp, obsidian-like shoulder accents. We focused on the balance between hand-painted skin tones and metallic waist-guard details to ensure the character fits the dark fantasy tone of the Ghost of Dragon project while remaining optimized for gameplay.

Hunters & Puzzles - Characters
We developed this character for Hunters & Puzzles with an emphasis on a vibrant color palette and clean, mobile-optimized geometry. The texturing process focused on hand-painted details for the leather gear and fabric to ensure the stylized silhouette remains sharp across various in-game environments.

Hunters & Puzzles - Weapons
The 3D weapon creation for Hunters & Puzzles focused on high-readability and chunky silhouettes suitable for mobile gameplay. We balanced crystalline and metallic textures through a hand-painted approach, ensuring the assets feel vibrant and tactile while staying within strict technical optimization limits.

BlackThorne Keep
For BlackThorne Keep, our team focused on the complex layering of the character’s tunic and patterned sashes to create a rich, tactile feel. The 3D creation process emphasized high-fidelity texturing on the ornamental gold pauldrons and fabric to achieve a grounded, high-detail finish.

Ghost of Dragon
The 3D development for this character focused on a distinct ritualistic silhouette, dominated by the tall, tapered headpiece and sharp collar geometry. We emphasized the contrast between the muted olive armor and the vibrant red accents of the ceremonial beads and body markings to maintain a strong visual identity.

FAQ
Key questions about working with VSQUAD on indie games, including game art, development support, fixed budgets, production planning, Unity and Unreal tasks, and small-team workflows.
We can support indie games with separate 3D assets, characters, environments, UI, animation, Unity or Unreal tasks, or a larger production scope. The goal is to find a practical setup that fits the team, not to force a big outsourcing model where it is not needed.
For some indie teams, the need is purely visual: characters, props, environments, animation-ready assets, UI, or VFX. For others, the problem is more technical: Unity development, Unreal Engine tasks, implementation, optimization, gameplay support, or preparing assets correctly for the engine.
This is useful when a small team needs not only artists, but people who understand how assets, scenes, UI, gameplay, and technical constraints connect inside real production.
We can work with stylized, semi-realistic, fantasy, sci-fi, cartoon, dark fantasy, mobile, PC, Steam, or hybrid game styles. Before production starts, we study the game’s visual direction, references, gameplay needs, technical limits, and expected quality level.
For indie teams, this often means helping separate “must-have” assets from “nice-to-have” assets, simplifying part of the scope, planning production in phases, or choosing a smaller first package before scaling.
A fixed budget is not a problem by itself. The real problem is unclear scope. That is why we try to define what can be done properly within the available budget before production begins.
We can help with one character, one creature, one weapon, one environment asset, a small prop pack, UI elements, or an animation-ready model. This works well when an indie team needs reliable external help without building a large production pipeline.
For smaller tasks, we keep the process simple: clear brief, realistic estimate, focused production, direct communication, and review before delivery.
We can adapt to your task tracking, file structure, engine setup, communication style, feedback process, and review cycle. If the team already works in Unity, Unreal, Trello, Jira, Google Drive, Notion, Discord, Slack, or another setup, we can usually adjust.
For indie teams, this is important because the production process is often less formal than in larger studios. We can help bring structure without making the process heavy.
Reliability comes from internal coordination, senior review, backup capacity, and clear ownership. If one artist is overloaded or the scope changes, we can discuss how to adjust the team instead of leaving the project stuck.
This is one of the main reasons indie teams work with a studio instead of relying only on separate freelancers.
This can include engine-ready assets, scene setup, technical art support, optimization, implementation help, UI integration, gameplay-related tasks, or preparing content so it works correctly inside the game.
For indie teams, this matters because a good-looking asset is not enough. It also needs to fit the engine, performance limits, gameplay camera, lighting, scale, and production workflow.
Many indie teams start with mixed references, rough concepts, prototype visuals, or a partial style guide. That is normal. The important part is to build a clear visual direction before spending too much budget on full production.
We can help turn rough ideas into a more workable production path: what to make first, what to test, what to simplify, and what should become part of the visual library.
The best starting package is simple: what you need, what style you want, what engine you use, what budget range you have, what deadline matters, and which assets are most important first.
If the scope is unclear, we can help shape it step by step, from early sketches and art direction to a practical production plan.
